Project

Moffat Street

A unique project, Outdoor Oasis were engaged to landscape a front yard that was to give a native Australian feel. This project required Australian native plants, Australian made materials, and Australian rich tones and textures. Previously an unused space, the owner wanted to transform the entrance to the house to invoke interest from guests visiting and pay respect the the land he lives on.

Working around some pre-existing challenges such as a pond that held natural spring water from the ground, and a house that was positioned on a busy street, the team were excited by the all-Australian brief. Creating a space around the circular fire pit, a curved stone seat was built as one element of a circular design motif. Leading guests through to the seated area was round stone paving, surrounded by pebbles, cacti and native botanicals. Rocks around the pond continued this theme and boarded the water to incorporate the pond into the design, rather than ignoring it. A fence that was striking and contemporary, timber was utilised to provide synergy with the timber house and pick up the warm tones of the fire pit. Working with external trades, electrical provisions and a new concrete driveway were managed by the team to provide a full service project management solution to the client.

Specific scope of work included:

  • Design concept: front yard re-do

  • Site demolition

  • Source of 100% Australian materials

  • Install block wall, timber features, stone seat, fire pit, planting, driveway

  • Electrical provisions + external trade management for concrete driveway
